My every breath

Standard

My every breath…..

feels claustrophobic

is a struggle

is like an elephant sitting on my chest

is lost in solitary confinement

is like breathing solely through a straw

is like running a perpetual marathon

is strangled by my absent functioning muscle

is like breathing in and out through a balloon

is stolen by windy days

is consciously controlled tirelessly

is my minds sole focus– in, out, in, out……

is my conscious intention…second by second, minute by minute

leaves no fog on windows…no message left

scares me! is it my last?

is savoured

is survival

is an essence of life

is a blessing

shares my story/journey

tells you to live in the moment…each breath

tells you not to take it for granted

is my expression of who I am

affirms I am still supposed to be here

To grieve and celebrate

Standard

I grieve and celebrate I grieve the soulful woman who once stood and walked tall, graceful and strong And now celebrate the soulful eyes that sees what was never seen before I grieve the loss of those afraid to journey with me when I was well And celebrate now with those not afraid to share my difficult path I grieve for those who strive for material things and ego fantasies And celebrate those who strive for good character and a soulful heart I grieve for all the adventures that took me round this incredible earth And now celebrate the shining sun, blue sky and butterflies in my yard I grieve the freedom I felt to be totally spontaneous and gypsy like And now celebrate the sacredness and presence of every moment I grieve and celebrate

The Secret Life of Me#2 – Born on a Moon Day

Standard

Attempted to be aborted through anothers heartache, she was eventually born on on a moon day – blue eyed, white haired, and taken away from her mother due to being very ill. Her legs have always been like the beauty and the beast. Her hips were twisted and they wanted to break every bone and reset them. Her mother fought for alternatives. She still has her little aluminum splint. Sensitive, and pensive soul seeing and feeling everything around her. She was gifted at drawing, and they were always horses and women in bodiced gowns. She was frightened of the dark, as she felt she was being touched, and the darkness made shapes and shadows turn into things. But oh how she loved the earth and nature – her father influenced her with nature shows and she explored cultural north Australian lands. But there was this mystery, she always had trouble breathing, would stop breathing abruptly and be raced to hospital. Feeling things around her neck would make her panic. For some reason, like it is significant, she still vividly remembers a childhood dream…upon a 17th century ship in the storm, thrown overboard with others being thrown around in the dark of the night with creatures below, eventually taken by the sea. Again her body fell ill, very sick, it was thought to be cancer but it was a growth on her kidney; she saw friends pass away in the cancer ward. A large scar now adorns her pale body but she wears it with love.

We all have a story…..

Escape the Real World…

Standard

Reading
Find a little nook, a cosy sofa…A spot under a tree, with the spring or summer sun shinning…Your beautiful garden….A lovely earthy cafe….a book is a great solitary splendor where you can go off to another time, place, world

Sleeping
The pleasures of sleeping as mother nature intended, the spanish well know the art of siestas and naps, and I know on some days when at work I wish I could hide somewhere and grab some 15 minutes to recharge and escape. Energy is restored, confusion and minds made clear, the body heals, and we travel off (in soul) to unknown places and we dream the most amazing things.

Retreat
Plan a retreat, whether at home or a weekend away…just do it. When you feel you need to escape, had enough of the trudge of work, it’s time to retreat and pull yourself together, mind body and spirit. Plan a monthy retreat,  you have so many options.

Travel
What more obvious way to escape reality than leaving where you are and going someplace else?  Where would you go, somewhere new or old? Find a place that resonates with you. Travel is inspiring and when you have had enough, just pack a bag and head for the road. Plan that road trip and have fun thinking about the little places you can stop on the way.

Creative Visualisation
See your dreams and act them out as if they are happening now, that you already have them. Use your senses to imagine sight, smell, touch, hearing and feeling. What stories or events make you happy. You can create a new event or relive and feel something from the past that brings you much joy.

Watch a Movie
Go and find some movies that make you feel good! or take you to a different place or fantasy…and enjoy the trip!

Do you have any other ideas??

A dancing star

Standard

“One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star.”

Friedrich Nietzsche

I think Nietzsche wanted to express that our downfall is our weakness of virtue, will and individualism. That we are transformed best when we invent our own way of life without being enslaved by the pressures of society and moral constraints. That our inner struggles and challenges give us the drive towards a higher form of freedom towards our higher self.

It’s a Brazilian Life ~ Abadiania

Standard

I’ve been a little quiet this month, and I have just returned from a spiritual trip to Abadiania, in Brasil. It was an incredible experience that I will write in due course, but hope you enjoy this description of the main street and how life was for me, as I wrote it during a moment of reflection whilst there…

You step outside your pousada, your spiritual home, to a quaint street washed with a rainbow of pastel colours, like purple, ochre, apple, candy, and sky blue, and white washed walls adorned with climbing bougainvillea. A short walk and you see chickens share their corner with kittens, and dogs running free in dusty earth and unkempt roadsides. A horse and cart trot along the main street, loaded with hay or wood, as a man sits a top with cigarette in mouth, sun wrinkled skin and cowboy hat. There is no need to hurry here, time does not exist, your mind is set free and you truly learn about how to just Be. You try to think, you try to remember things, but it falls away to just a moment, an experience where you stare in awe of life around you….

A fawn coloured hummingbird suspended in mid air as it’s long beak finds nourishment in the nectar of a bright flower, it’s wings move so fast – its a blur, its body almost stationary, and it’s tail fanning slowly side to side.

We sit in the cool shaded garden patio, enjoying our own favourite nectars…pina coladas, green husked coconut straight with a straw, lavish Acai pudding topped with banana or addictive strawberry shakes. We are in the brightly yellow painted Frutti’s – the social hub, the repose zone of this Abadiania street.

Our moments are expressed on equal wavelength, sharing straight from the heart life’s moments, and entwined with lots of love and laughter. We are all journeying here, and connecting via familiarity, lessons, truths. We have all come here to connect with our Souls. We are at One, and this is our Soul pod.

Only once in your life…

Standard

Beautiful words from Bob Marley…enjoy

“Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.” — Bob Marley

Here’s to the crazy ones

Standard

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. ” ~ Jack Kerouac

The Lighthouse

Standard

I am poised upon the clifftops pale

tall, strong and proud I am

watching out for ships in sail

A lighthouse –  lightworker I am

Still I stand, so composed

when storms of monsoon rise

thrashing and smashing violent waves

I’m safety in disguise

I am unshaken by it’s fierceness

but worry of my comrades

so blinded by the rains

they collapse to many obeys

but my mind is high in sight

blessed powers of enlightenment

so I colour their worldy paths

on many such foggy nights

I care, I guide, I guard

I stand at peace with strength

so great do I regard

where others paths are sent

pure, innocent, so quiet

yet I am a part of everything

earth, air, water and fire

amidst all life I cling

my signals are ever present

for whenever I am not near

so you may hear my steady voice

to guide your path bright clear

for when you see my glow, my insight

when you’re lost in sombre days

when you have faith in who I am

you may journey safer ways
